(Monrovia, Liberia ), The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) will on Tuesday, February 17, convene a high-level Stakeholders’ Coordination Meeting bringing together international and development partners working in gender equality, child protection, and social protection across Liberia.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the meeting is being organized by the Office of the Minister as part of efforts to strengthen coordination, collaboration, and alignment of partner-supported interventions with national development priorities. The engagement also marks the beginning of a structured framework aimed at improving collective impact and accountability within the sector.

The statement noted that the coordination forum will focus on aligning ongoing and planned partner programs with the Ministry’s Five-Year Strategic Plan (2026–2030) and the Government of Liberia’s ARREST Agenda (2024–2029), particularly Programs 47 to 50 under Pillar Six.

As the Government’s lead institution for gender equality, child welfare, and social protection, the Ministry emphasized that sustainable and inclusive development can only be achieved through coherent collaboration between government institutions and development partners.

Discussions at the meeting will be organized around four thematic pillars: Gender Equality, Child Protection, Social Protection, and Institutional Capacity Strengthening. The Ministry said stakeholders are expected to share program updates, identify areas for synergy, and agree on practical coordination mechanisms to reduce duplication and strengthen service delivery nationwide.

The press statement further stressed that the ARREST Agenda places strong emphasis on human capital development, social inclusion, and good governance, core areas within the Ministry’s mandate. Strengthened coordination with partners, the Ministry said, is therefore essential to advancing women’s rights, protecting children, and expanding social protection systems for vulnerable populations.

To enhance monitoring and accountability, the Ministry disclosed that a standardized reporting template will be introduced for use by all partners to ensure harmonized data collection, consistent reporting, and results-based decision-making.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strong partnerships and promoting a unified approach toward achieving measurable progress in gender equality, child protection, and social protection in Liberia.
