(Monrovia, January 22, 2026) – The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) has strongly condemned the bullying and derogatory remarks directed at the newly appointed Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Cornelia Kruah.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Gender under the signature of D. Webster Cassell, Communication Specialist, the Ministry rejected all forms of online harassment or intimidation aimed at young, enterprising Liberian women, calling such behavior unacceptable, demeaning, and counterproductive. “It undermines the immense potential and contributions of women in leadership,” the statement said.
While noting that constructive criticism is a key part of democracy, the Ministry warned that personal attacks and harassment rooted in gender stereotypes discourage women and young people from public service and weaken national efforts toward inclusive leadership.
Minister Kruah, described as a dedicated public servant and advocate for youth and women’s empowerment, was praised for her historic appointment as the youngest Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The Ministry extended warm congratulations and called on Liberians, particularly the youth community, to support her leadership.
The Ministry also commended President Joseph N. Boakai for appointing another woman to a senior government post, emphasizing that Minister Kruah’s appointment reflects the President’s commitment to gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive leadership.
In closing, the Ministry urged citizens and media practitioners to promote a culture where leadership is judged by competence, integrity, and dedicated service, not by gender, age, or personal attacks.
Recently, President Boakai appointed Atty. Cornelia Kruah as Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports replacing Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu. The outgoing Minister was transferred to LRRRC.
