Criminal Court in Liberia has ordered the Clar Hope Foundation to hand over all documents, including financial records, about a multi-purpose complex built in Marshall, Margibi County.
The complex is owned by former First Lady Clar M. Weah.

The Foundation is currently being investigated by the government’s Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT). The investigation is about possible corruption, including the misuse of public money.

The court insist on knowing how the former First Lady acquired finances to build the complex. Other information around the direct source of the funding, because it is a private property built on several acres of land.

This legal haul is expected to take some time as there are reports that Madam Weah and her legal team have indicated that the property is her personal wealth.  How did she acquire such a huge investment is what the AREPT is investigating.
